For Becca, finding a job after high school was about more than starting a career. She wanted the independence that came with having a job and the opportunity to build a future for herself.
Not knowing exactly what she wanted to do after high school, Becca took an important first step by enrolling in the Housekeeping and Breakfast Attendant course through Easterseals Florida’s STRIVE in Hospitality Program. Through the training, she earned an official certificate of completion while developing new skills, building confidence and gaining a clearer sense of direction.
Turning Training Into Opportunity
After completing the course, Becca came across a breakfast attendant position online and applied. She secured an interview, where her Easterseals Florida STRIVE training immediately caught the attention of the hiring manager.
Becca was hired on the spot.
What began as a career training opportunity turned into a lasting employment journey. Becca has now been working at Hilton for more than four years, and her dedication and hard work have been recognized through her selection as Employee of the Quarter.
Her experience demonstrates the impact that career focused training can have, not only by helping someone prepare for employment, but by giving them the confidence to take the next step toward their goals.
Continuing to Build Her Future
For Becca, one opportunity led to another.
Eager to continue developing her skills and open new doors, she returned to Easterseals Florida to complete the STRIVE in Healthcare CNA certification course. She recently completed the program and is currently studying for the written CNA exam.
Throughout the program, Becca said her Easterseals instructors consistently went above and beyond to make sure students understood the material. She is especially grateful to her STRIVE in Healthcare instructor, Arianna, who continues to support her as she prepares for her CNA exam.
A Future She Envisioned for Herself
Becca’s journey is a reminder that career development doesn’t always happen in a straight line. Sometimes, one opportunity is all it takes to help someone discover what they can do and open the door to new goals, greater confidence and continued growth.
From completing her first career training course to building a successful career at Hilton and returning to Easterseals Florida to pursue CNA certification, Becca continues to invest in herself and her future.
With determination, continued learning and support from her Easterseals Florida instructors, Becca is continuing to build the future she envisioned for herself.
