STRIVE is our dynamic job placement and support program focused on helping teens and adults with disabilities secure employment and attain financial independence. Through job readiness training, coaching, and networking opportunities, we empower teens with the skills and confidence needed to thrive in the workforce.

STRIVE in Healthcare

Easterseals Florida’s STRIVE (Skills Training Results in Vocational Employment) in Healthcare program offers a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) test prep course. The curriculum is based on state standards and provides training on the written and skills part of the CNA exam. Students must be at least 18 years old before the class is over.

• Classes taught by certified nurses or nurse assistant instructors
• Modules include:
  • Book Learning
  • Skills Training
• A warm and supportive environment
• An opportunity to learn and practice skills that are transferable across a number of healthcare professions

Offered: In-person at select schools in Palm Beach and the Greater Orange Counties

STRIVE in Hospitality

Easterseals Florida’s STRIVE (Skills Training Results in Vocational Employment) in Hospitality program is a 65-hour course. The curriculum is based on standards from the American Hotel & Lodging Educational Institute, to prepare individuals ages 15 and up with a disability to work in the hospitality industry.

• Classes taught year-round by certified hospitality instructors
• Modules include:
  • Guest Room Attendant
  • Breakfast Attendant
  • Maintenance
  • Front Desk Representative
  • Guest Services Gold
• A warm and supportive environment
• An opportunity to learn skills that are transferable across a number of professions and vocations

Offered: Virtual statewide and in-person at select schools in Palm Beach, Duval, Collier, Volusia, Hillsborough, and the Greater Orange Counties
